The Scottish Borders is unique in many ways, and has such a Diverse range of industry - and yet we are competing with cities and we have no motorways or rail links. We do how ever have the internet and that allows us to compete on a level playing field with other major organisations. With a little foresight and a bit of planning we can help ourselves to promote our business on the web and force our sites up the rankings within the search engines.

What is a Web Ring

A webring in general is a collection of websites from around the Internet joined together in a circular structure. When used to improve search engine rankings, webrings can be considered a search engine optimization technique.

Webrings are usually organized around a specific theme, often educational or social. Web rings usually have a moderator who decides which pages to include in the web ring. After approval, webmasters add their pages to the ring by 'linking in' to the ring; this requires adding the necessary HTML  to their site
